Book List

I don't recommend a lot of books. Not because I'm a book snob; but, because I'm only going to recommend it to you if it had a deeply life changing effect on me. I'd love to hear what you're reading and how any of these books impact your life.

WALKING WITH GOD

John Eldredge

This book has been a longtime favorite of mine and I take nearly all of my clients through it. It changed everything for me about how I pray and how I LISTEN to God in my life! If you want next-level faith? Read this!

The Talks

Barrett & Jenifer Johnson

ALL parents...I repeat ALL PARENTS MUST READ THIS. If you want to tackle sexuality, dating, and all the other stuff your kids will encounter, start young and keep talking. This is the best bridge between "the abstinence talk" and "give em condoms" that you'll find!

Grief Recovery Handbook

John James

Grief can overtake everything and nothing seems to ease the pain. This book is not a cure-all but does give you permission to grieve and give yourself grace. Maybe you're struggling with the loss of a loved one, or maybe it's losing a job, a relationship. No matter what - you can live again.

ACCIDENTAL SAINTS

Nadia Bolz-Weber

Nadia Bolz-Weber is a Lutheran minister and longtime fav human of mine. It was her example that helped me to finally embrace that my faith is not limited by my appearance or my all-too-often sailor-like language.

Cross-Cultural Servanthood

Duane Elmer

Required reading from my pastor before my first mission trip to Tanzania - and now I pass the baton to you. Whether you are going abroad or not (but, ESPECIALLY if you are) this book thoughtfully equips you to understand that culture is more than book smarts.

TATTOOS ON THE HEART

Gregory Boyle

This is one of the most life-changing books I've ever read. It challenged me to look at the overlooked people from the wronge side of the tracks through the eyes of God's unending love and compassion.

Love Does

Bob Goff

This one is next up on my reading stack. That's right, I haven't read it yet. BUT - I was so moved by the series on Love at church (based on the principles shared in this book) that I now must read it. That, and everyone at church got a free copy. Want to read with me?
